2011 NightOwl Classic in St. Paul
We've taken flight to St. Paul with all new routes and a longer flight too! It'll be a Hoooot!
PLEASE NOTE: Online sales for this event will end at 11:00AM on 8/20/11. You may still purchase ride tickets on-site for $38 for adults or $28 for children. Limited t-shirts available for an additional fee.
The 3rd annual NightOwl Classic is a non-competitive bike ride along the Mississippi River, Summit Avenue and downtown St. Paul at dusk. The ride will start and finish at Upper Landing Park on Shepard Road (behind the Xcel Energy Center and the Science Museum) and tour the beautiful riverfront district and well known landmarks.
The ride offers three routes with two separate start times - the shortest 9 mile 'Family Flight' will take-off between 7:00-7:30PM and the longer routes, the 17 and 26 mile routes will depart between 7:15-8:00PM - all riders must depart before 8:00PM. Some roadways will be closed for riders with the entire course re-opening to traffic at 11:00PM. Obey all traffic signals and instructions from St. Paul Police officers. River crossings such as Wabasha bridge, Robert Street bridge, Summit Avenue and Kellogg Blvd. will be shared with traffic but divided and controlled for rider safety. Riders with children, families or less-experienced riders are encouraged to take the shortest ride. The 17 and 26 mile rides are intended for more experienced riders only. HELMETS AND FRONT & BACK BIKE LIGHTS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL RIDERS. No pets please but safe costumes are encouraged.
